Snowfall season 5 release date has been confirmed, Snowfall has announced the launch date for its highly anticipated fifth season.
The FX crime drama, developed by Eric Amadio, Dave Andron, and the late John Singleton, stated on Tuesday (December 21) that it would return to FX in the US with a double bill on Wednesday, February 23.
“Be strong or be gone,” the official account tweeted with the premiere date confirmation.
A first shot from the next chapter, showing Damson Idris’ Franklin Saint, was also released, and if that wasn’t enough, Snowfall also revealed when fans can expect to see a teaser trailer for the new season.
According to TVLine, fans will get an additional Christmas surprise this year, as a new teaser will air on ESPN and ABC on Christmas Day (December 25) during the two networks’ broadcasts of NBA games.
Snowfall follows adolescent drug dealer Franklin as he comes paths with undercover CIA investigator Theodore ‘Teddy’ McDonald (Carter Hudson) and competitors who threaten to destroy his company during the 1980s cocaine pandemic in the United States.
Franklin eventually hung up the cane he’d been relying on since Melody shot him the previous season in the show’s season four finale, something Idris says they’d “been building up to” for a while.
“That Keyser Soze moment was incredibly amazing,” he said, comparing the scenario to the concluding minutes of The Usual Suspects. “The most important question for viewers was, ‘When are we going to go back to Franklin being well?'”
“He doesn’t need people to see him as vulnerable any more.” He no longer needs to be ten steps ahead. He may now concentrate only on the company. In that moment, he realises he’s gone full circle. That’s why putting down the cane was so amazing.”
The fifth season will begin in the summer of 1986, with Franklin and his whole family “rich beyond their wildest dreams.” They look to have everything until it all comes apart.
