What did Carlton Davis say, Approximately two hours after tweeting an offensive racial epithet, Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis issued an apology to the Asian community. At 6:42 p.m. Eastern Time, Davis posted “Gotta stop allowing g***s in Miami,” and then erased the post soon afterwards; nonetheless, screenshots were still able to be taken.

Davis issued an apology through Twitter at 9:01 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), explaining that he was unaware it was an anti-Asian slur and instead assumed it referred to a person who was “lame.” The tweet also included the 24-year-interpretation old’s of the phrase, which was that it was a slang term used in South Florida, and a statement that he would eradicate the term from his lexicon.

Davis, who completed his high schooling in Miami, said that he had no intention of causing harm to anybody, even though there is now a high rate of bigotry and violence towards Asians.

What did Carlton Davis say, In the tweet, he added, “I used a phrase that, from where I come from, has traditionally meant ‘lame,’ but I did not understand it had a much deeper, terrible meaning.” “I want to apologise to anybody who was upset by seeing that term because we need to concentrate on supporting one other during these difficult times. I have learnt a valuable lesson and want to apologise to anyone who was hurt by seeing that word.”

The general manager of the Buccaneers, Jason Licht, issued a statement on Monday afternoon in response to Davis’ tweet.
